About Me

My name is Wren (pronouns: she/they).I have a life-long curiosity about how we navigate being in the world and in our own bodies. Having been born with an unconventional physical structure, my body has presented me with ongoing physical and emotional challenges, an experience that has been at the heart of my creative explorations. For many years, I have worked as a dance artist and movement practitioner, collaborating with other artists and organisations across the world to explore embodiment in all its many forms. Through this work I have sought to challenge perceptions of Disabled bodies, using my own lived experience to develop new ways to move, new physical languages, and new ways to be together. My experience of my own body is a key reason why I chose to work alongside others in my therapeutic practice, helping them to come home to their bodies and themselves.I am a qualified Somatic Experiencing* practitioner, certified by Somatic Experiencing International, a NeuroAffective Touch Foundation qualified practitioner, and a Focusing Oriented Therapist, in the final stages of obtaining certification. I am a member of the Complementary Therapists Association. As a qualified art therapist, I have spent over two decades working alongside Learning Disabled and Autistic adults and health care professionals, using creativity as a way to connect, explore and celebrate 'difference'. Everyone has their own path into their inner world. For some, it is through their body, for others, through their emotions, memories, or behaviours. In our work together, we'll follow the path that feels right for you.
